About Us

Karen began her career working in both industry and practice before joining Jackson & Green in the mid-2000s. As the sixth Director/Partner since the firm’s establishment in 1974, she has played a key role in shaping the practice into the business it is today.

With a background in sales and marketing, Karen brings a valuable commercial perspective and a range of additional skills that are often rare within the accountancy profession. She is also a qualified teacher and previously taught the AAT qualification at a local college for many years, before dedicating herself fully to the practice following her business partner’s retirement in 2016.

Karen’s passion for the business she has built is clear, and her high standards and commitment set the benchmark for the entire team to follow.

Marcus has been an integral part of our team since joining in 2018. As Practice Manager, he oversees all accounting, tax, and payroll functions, working closely with both the team and our clients to ensure the best possible outcomes.

With a strong focus on the more technical aspects of the role, Marcus specialises in representing clients to HMRC, restructuring businesses, creating group structures, developing tax-efficient strategies for exit planning, and collaborating with liquidators when business closures are necessary.

Having grown up locally, Marcus is passionate about supporting the community. Outside of work, he’s a keen runner and is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant. Once fully qualified, Marcus will be joining Karen as a Director, helping to shape the firm’s future.

Anna originally gained a degree in Psychology before embarking on a successful career in accountancy. As a Senior Accountant, she manages her own portfolio of clients while working closely with Marcus and supporting the younger members of the team, offering cross-disciplinary guidance and expertise.

She has played a key role in driving HMRC’s digital agenda, helping both the team and our clients adapt to new technologies. Anna is particularly passionate about empowering business owners, frequently working with them on-site to maximise the value of their software packages, improve financial decision-making, and boost profitability.

A self-confessed lifelong learner, Anna is currently studying towards becoming a fully Chartered Accountant and continues to build her expertise to better support her clients. Her approachable style and genuine enthusiasm make her a firm favourite with clients and colleagues alike.

Karen began her career in Australia, where she lived for 16 years before returning to the UK and joining Jackson & Green in 2012. After gaining valuable experience with large regional and national firms, she returned to the practice in 2022 as a Senior Accountant.

Karen manages a diverse portfolio of clients and works closely with Marcus to ensure full HMRC compliance across the practice, particularly in relation to VAT and CIS. Her specialist areas include supporting estate agents and public houses, where her industry knowledge and expertise provide clients with clear, practical advice.

Having built strong relationships with both colleagues and clients, Karen is valued for her attention to detail and commitment to delivering the best service to her clients.

Sam joined the team in 2022 and manages a diverse portfolio of clients, providing full bookkeeping, accounting, and tax support to sole traders and small limited companies. While he works across a wide range of industries, Sam specialises in all aspects of the Construction Industry and CIS taxes.

An accredited user of Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent, Sam is also part of the client support team, helping to champion HMRC’s Making Tax Digital initiative for Income Tax. His up-to-date knowledge of digital accounting solutions allows him to provide practical, tailored advice to clients.

Currently studying towards becoming a fully Chartered Accountant, Sam is valued for his approachable nature and dedication to helping clients manage their finances with confidence.

Robert joined the team in 2022 and is currently in his final year of study for his AAT qualification. He manages a varied portfolio of sole traders and limited companies, with particular expertise in larger rental portfolios and the commercial fishing industry.

An accredited user of Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent, Robert is also part of the client support team, helping to champion HMRC’s Making Tax Digital initiative for Income Tax. His growing technical knowledge and proactive approach make him a valuable resource for clients and colleagues alike.

Once he completes his current qualification, Robert will be fast-tracked to begin studying towards becoming a fully Chartered Accountant, further strengthening his expertise and contribution to the team.

Millie joined the team in 2025, bringing with her valuable experience from a previous role at another local practice. She is currently studying towards her AAT qualification and AATQB status as she continues to develop her skills and expertise.

Working closely with our sole trader clients and small property portfolio owners, Millie provides support with bookkeeping, year-end accounts, and personal tax returns. She is an accredited user of Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent and is part of the client support team, helping to champion HMRC’s Making Tax Digital initiative for Income Tax.

Millie’s enthusiasm for learning and her approachable nature make her a great asset to the team and a trusted point of contact for clients.

Karl spent 16 years working in banking before deciding to retrain as an accountant in 2018. He joined the team in 2025 after seven years at another local firm, where he built extensive experience as a Senior Bookkeeper.

Now managing a mixed portfolio of sole traders and small limited company clients, Karl enjoys working across a variety of industries rather than focusing on one specific sector. He is also an accredited user of Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent, enabling him to provide clients with efficient, digital solutions tailored to their needs.

Karl’s broad financial background make him a trusted advisor to his clients and a valuable member of the team.

Ollie joined the team in 2025 as our youngest member and apprentice, beginning his journey towards a career in accountancy. He is currently studying for his first-year accountancy exams and has already gained accreditation in Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent bookkeeping software.

Over the coming years, Ollie will be working closely with our sole trader clients, supporting them as HMRC continues to roll out its Making Tax Digital initiative. His enthusiasm for learning and proactive approach make him a valuable addition to the team as he develops his skills and experience.

Elouise manages our busy payroll bureau, providing a comprehensive, fully digital, and GDPR-compliant service across all aspects of payroll. She ensures strict compliance with HMRC and the Pension Regulator, supporting both the team and our clients with accuracy and efficiency.

With experience gained in both industry and practice, Elouise brings a wealth of knowledge built up over many years working in payroll and bookkeeping. Her attention to detail and proactive approach make her an invaluable member of the team, ensuring clients receive a seamless and reliable service.

Elouise is highly regarded for her approachable manner and her commitment to making payroll as straightforward as possible for our clients.

Jane joined the team in 2022 and plays a key role as our Practice Administrator, managing the smooth onboarding of new clients and ensuring full compliance with our Anti-Money Laundering obligations. She also makes sure all our limited company clients meet the requirements of the Companies Act and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.

In addition to overseeing compliance, Jane provides advice and guidance to our corporate clients on Company Secretarial matters and manages credit control for the practice. Her organised approach and attention to detail help ensure everything runs efficiently, making her an invaluable part of the team.
